Zu Leben und Werk: Kengiro Azuma was born in 1926 in Yamagata, Japan. From 1949 he attended the sculpture section of the University of Art, Tokyo, graduating in 1953. In 1956 he obtained a scholarship from the Italian government and moved to Italy. From 1956 he attended the School of Marino Marini at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan. He received the decoration "Shijuhosho" from the Emperor of Japan in Tokyo in 1995. The City of Milan awarded him with Ambrogino in 1996. He currently lives and works in Milan.
