Born in Spring Green, Wisconsin in 1936, Richard Haas has had a distinguished career in teaching, art administration, painting and printmaking. He is known particularly for his murals and large-scale trompe l'oeil paintings. Haas has completed projects in such cities as Miami, Chicago, Cincinnati, St.Louis, Dallas, New York, Boston and Melbourne, Australia. Among a long list of awards that Haas received for his architectural imagery let's mentionned awards from the Municipal Arts Society of New York, American Institute of Architecture, National Endowment for the Arts and the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship. One-person exhibitions featuring Richard Haas' work have been mounted at the Whithney Museum of American Art, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the American Institute of Architects Foundation, the Chrysler Museum, the St. Louis Art Museum, and the Aspen Art Museum to name a few.
